Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship, without which there could be no trust. However, there are a number of instances — ethically and legally — where the therapist has an obligation to breach that confidentiality. The issue of confidentiality will be discussed at the first session, where any concerns you may have can be addressed at that time.
Sessions last 60 minutes.
Normally one appointment per week. However, during crisis times or when you feel you need more support, a greater frequency can be agreed upon.
Counselling and psychotherapy is a process of growth and change, and so during the consultation session we discuss and agree on a proposed number of sessions. Depending on your needs, the standard arrangement is a block of six sessions (including initial assessment), with a view to adding further sessions as required. I also provide one-off and emergency counselling sessions.
A limited number of reduced-fee places are available for those experiencing financial hardship — please don't let cost be a barrier to reaching out.

Yes. Online sessions are available via a secure video platform and are just as effective as in-person work for many people. They can be a great option if you're not based in Galway, have mobility difficulties, or simply prefer the comfort of your own home.
Absolutely. Many people feel unsure before their first contact. A free 15-minute introductory call is available so you can ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide with no pressure whatsoever whether to proceed.
