Counselling Services West ("I", "me") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected through this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors of counsellingserviceswest.ie and to anyone who submits the enquiry or booking form.

Who this applies to

This policy covers data collected directly by this website. It does not cover clinical notes or records kept separately as part of ongoing counselling work, which are governed by my professional obligations as an IACP-accredited counsellor and discussed with clients directly.

What information is collected

When you submit the booking or enquiry form, the following is collected:

• First and last name
• Email address
• Preferred session type and availability, if provided
• The content of your message, which may include personal or sensitive information you choose to share

No information is collected automatically through cookies or analytics tracking on this site beyond what is required to load fonts (see "Third-party services" below).

How your information is used

Form submissions are used solely to respond to your enquiry and arrange counselling sessions. Your information is not used for marketing, is not sold, and is not shared with any party other than as described below.

Third-party services

This site uses the following third-party services to operate:

• EmailJS — processes and delivers form submissions by email. Your form data passes through EmailJS's infrastructure before arriving in a dedicated inbox. EmailJS's own privacy practices are available at emailjs.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Google Fonts — loads typefaces used on this site. Loading fonts may involve your browser making a request to Google's servers.

Special category data

If your message discloses details about your mental health or other sensitive matters, this is treated with particular care and is only ever used to prepare for and provide counselling to you, with your implicit consent given by submitting the form voluntarily.

How long information is kept

Enquiry emails are retained only as long as needed to respond to you and, where a counselling relationship begins, as long as reasonably necessary for that professional relationship.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data is held about you
• Request corrections to inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for further contact at any time
